WEIRTON - A boil order has been issued by the Weirton Area Water Board following water line repairs at the intersection of Denise Drive and Oakland Avenue.

Water board employees, today, replaced four valves at the intersection, in the Marland Heights area of Weirton. As part of the work, crews had to drain the water lines in the area.

The boil order is in effect only for Denise Drive and Oakland Avenue.

Under regulations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the state Bureau of Public Health, a boil order is required any time water distribution lines have been drained or gone dry.

The boil order will be in effect for a minimum of 24 hours.
