Thanking students and staff

January 19, 2014
Weirton Daily Times
Officials with the Orchards at Foxcrest, a senior living community in Chester, thanked students and staff of Allen T. Allison Elementary for their recent donation to the facility and its residents. Students, staff and parents at Allison Elementary held a drive to collect items for their 'Grand Friends.' The items included lotion, socks, puzzles, books, blankets and Chapstick. Donated materials were given to the residents on Christmas Day so each resident would have a present to open, as many of the residents are not able to travel and be with family members that day, Orchards officials said. Many of the students of Allen T. Allison Elementary also participate at the TreeHouse Child Care Center, which is located at the Orchards at Foxcrest. Children at the TreeHouse interact with residents of the Pepperberry Suites, who they call their 'Grand Friends,' in daily activities.
