STEUBENVILLE - It's time once again for Trinity Health System's Heartland.
Designed as the "largest heart risk appraisal under one roof," the event is planned from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Fort Steuben Mall.
Trinity is sponsoring the event, along with Prime Time Office on Aging, the Herald-Star, WTOV-TV, Lamar and WCDK-FM.
The event is marking its 21st year, according to Keith Murdock, Trinity's director of community relations and development," Trinity Health System is offering this program to help community members improve their health through screenings and information.
"We will, once again, hold the event at the Fort Steuben Mall. Last year's attendance was tremendous and we hope everyone attends again this year," he said.
This year's event will include the community blood analysis, which tests participant's blood for more than 30 different screens.
"Our screening has been well attended for years and we expect another large crowd." Murdock stated.
Th cost of the blood screening is $35.
Murdock noted an HBA1c screening, which monitors glucose control of diabetics over time, also will be offered for $15.
Many Trinity Health System service personnel will be on hand to discuss their services and provide screenings in conjunction with the blood screenings offered.
More than 26,000 area residents have participated in the event over the years, and organizers expect 1,500 participants again this year.
