RICHMOND, Willis Ronald, 86, of New Manchester, WV, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Trinity East Valley Hospice Center in Steubenville, OH, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 8, 1927, in Pughtown, WV, a son of the late Lester James and Abbie Cardelia (Couchenour) Richmond.
He is also preceded in death by his first wife, A. Juanita Richmond; his second wife, Connie M. Richmond; two brothers, Lester Dean and Robert David Richmond; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Jordan and Betty Mae Ord; and a stepdaughter, Lisa Suzette Jackson.
Willis retired from Weirton Steel Corp. Coke Plant as a foreman, was a World War II Army veteran, member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in New Manchester, WV, and was known as Mr. Fixit in the community.
Surviving are three children, Carolyn Kay Barton of New Cumberland, WV, Patricia Ann (Travis) Cornwell of New Manchester, WV, Ronald James (Lucy) Richmond of Charlotte, NC; four stepchildren, Tara (Jim) Allison of New Manchester, WV, Debra (Bill) Hale of Ocala, FL, Jill (Ron) Brant of Ocala, FL, Marcy (Dave) Hess of New Manchester, WV; two grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.
Services will be there Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Matt Camlin, Rev. Brian Kilbert and Rev. Mark Wilds officiating.
Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery in Hookstown, PA.
