To the Editor,
Where are they when you need 'em, Hancock County legislators, that is!
The three elected state representatives, for Hancock County, Swartzmiller, Jones and Yost have not said anything publicly (that I know of) about the bill, introduced January 24, regarding the possible loss of $450,000 income to Hancock County from track video proceeds.
One would think that an issue as important as this would be reported by the representatives so that Hancock County citizens could know what is going on.
Is this something like Groundhog Day? Where they (the representatives) hide in their holes and don't come out for six weeks until the bill is passed!
Perhaps they could share their views: for or against and the reasons why in the local newspapers, TV, and radio before they vote on the bill.
This is a big issue for a little county (smallest in the state). Regardless of the outcome, voters are reminded to remember the results when voting the next election.
