Violet Mae (Haught) Kimmel-Weaver

KIMMEL-WEAVER, Violet Mae (Haught), 97, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Weirton Geriatric Center.

She was born on May 8, 1916, in Sistersville, WV a daughter of the late James J. and Mary (Winland) Haught.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Harry B. Kimmel and second husband, Theodore Weaver, 12 brothers and sisters; her great-grandson, William Eric Thomas on June 28, 2008; and stepson, Jack Weaver.

Vi worked for many years at the former St. Johns Hospital as a nurse's aide and was a former employee at the former Fort Steuben Meyers Hardware. She was a member of the Follansbee Church of Christ, the Loyal Women's Class and a former member of the 20th Century Club.

Surviving are two children, Catherine (Eric) Oughton of Weirton, WV, and Harry J. (Janice) Kimmel of Henderson, NV; a stepdaughter, Jean (Ron) Grimm of Connellsville, PA and a step-daughter- in-law, Ethel Weaver of Follansbee, WV; six grandchildren, Aaron (Jackie) Kimmel, Stacy (Jeff) Forbes, Bonnie Thomas, Gayle (Michael) Martin, Lesley (Robert) Mullenbach, and Joan (Joe) Bucy; 11 great - grandchildren, Zachary Kimmel, Jeremy Forbes, Elizabeth Longebardy, Ian and Matthew Martin, Jacob, Parker, and Isaac Mullenbach, Mason Bates, Zachary and Bryanna Bucy; and three step-grandchildren, Sean (Tina) Grimm, Melodie Hunter and Karen (Scott) Gallagher; one great-great-grandson, Edward Longebardy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13th from 3 p.m. until time of the celebration of her life at 6 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV with William Cooper, minister, officiating.

Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Follansbee Church of Christ Building Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Weirton Geriatric Center and Valley Hospice for the excellent care their mother received.
