Weirton Daily Times
Weirton Madonna senior Josh Martin, flanked by his parents Todd and Michele Martin, will continue his academic and athletic careers at Urbana University. The first-team Class A offensive lineman in 2013 and second-team in 2012 will be a member of the football team. Martin was a two-year starter at right tackle for the Blue Dons and was first-team all-OVAC both years. Madonna won the state championship in December and was runner-up in 2012. The Blue Knights are members of the Mountain East Conference. Urbana was 7-4 last year, 7-2 in the MEC. Also on hand for the signing were Madonna defensive coordinator Brad Kessel, guidance counselor Bruce Marshall, assistant coach John McClelland, brother Nathan Martin, sister Kennedy Martin, head coach Doug Taylor and assistant coach and Athletic Director Jon Kendrick. Martin plans to major in secondary special education and minor in psychology.
