John 14:1, 3 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."
Hebrews 11:8, "By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going."
My family and I are going through the experience of selling our home. We have given much thought about this decision, and after much consideration decided that the best way to find what we are looking for in a home is to move. We sat down and considered the cost. We have a picture in our mind of what we are looking for and are getting ready to make the move.
After weeks were spent preparing the home and locating a selling agent to represent us. We signed a contract and a good faith statement. With this representation we endured the process of selling with perfect peace. Several potential buyers came through our home. Eventually a family made an offer. We negotiated the terms and arrived at an agreement.
Inspections were scheduled and adjustments made to come up to standards and codes for all parties involved. A contract of covenant was entered into. After all the concessions and requests were satisfied we closed on the transaction. Legalities, fees, and requirements were all satisfied. Finally the home was sold! All existing debt related to this property was paid in full.
Now we were granted a grace period. This is an agreed upon period of time given for the seller to remove all contents and personal effects. Making the deadline more interesting is the fact that we have no idea where we are moving; but we are committed to moving!
Many circumstances lead to a move. Moving is a process involving relocating from one residence to another. Moving carries with it the concept of a new start and a new location. Moving requires action on our part to achieve a fresh beginning. Moving includes, but is not limited to carefully reasoning through, preparing clear and concise plans, priorities, packing and patience. It has a mandated deadline or due date.
You may be moving yourself. Perhaps your circumstances are less than desirable. Situations around your life are forcing you to make a change. Maybe everything seems to be squeezing in on you and your resources are difficult. A move is inevitable for you! You need a good agent to find you the deal of a life time.
Friend, I suggest Jesus Christ. Not only will He help you find a place He has prepared a place in advance and wants to lead us there. Jesus knows all about it. He will walk you through an inspection of what needs upgraded, or replaced. When you make the decision to purchase, He will arrange the sales agreement and help you arrive at your good faith statement and enter into a covenant.
Jesus Christ includes the closing cost and assures that all liens, judgments and debt are satisfied and paid in full. The grace period on this relationship is renewable daily.
Today, I urge you to sell out and move out of your old lifestyle and move into this wonderful relationship with Jesus. You may be like us or Abraham having no idea where you are moving, but you can trust Jesus and take Him at His word. He seeks His word to accomplish it. Today, turn your heart toward Him and schedule your closing date. Jesus offers himself as a guarantee in case our home burns down or is destroyed. He offers full replacement and restoration to those who trust and will obey the Word of God. Sell out now, and get ready to move. Prepare to fill out your change of address card. Eye has not seen neither has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who trust and obey His word. Amen.
