WEIRTON - The Rotary Club of Weirton will be running for the roses as part of its annual fundraiser event in May.
The local club will be hosting its "Run for the Roses" event, beginning at 5:30 p.m., May 3 at Williams Country Club.
This will be the 10th-annual charity event hosted by the club.
"As in years past, this event promises to have good food, plenty to drink and dancing," Club President George Charnie said.
Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from the event benefit local charities and community projects supported by the Rotary Club of Weirton, including a scholarship program for local high school graduates.
Entertainment for the evening will include performances by the Joseph Sisters and the Groove Doctors. There also will be prize drawings, a Chinese auction and a hat contest
The club also is seeking sponsors for this year's Run for the Roses.
Sponsorship levels include:
Gold Club: $2,500 and more, 26 VIP tickets and a reserved tickets, full page ad in the program, recognition on banners and all advertisements
Blue Club: $1,500: 20 tickets, full page ad in the program, recognition on banners and advertisements
Wheeling Club: $1,000: 16 tickets, half page ad in the program, recognition in the program, on the club's website and during the event
Spoke Club: $500: 10 tickets, quarter page ad in the program, a reserved table, acknowledgment during the event and on the website
Friends Club: $300: six tickets, business card ad in the program
