Keener, Doris, 64, passed away at Trinity Hospital in Dennison, Ohio on April 23, 2014.
Doris was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on April 23, 1950, the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Pitts) Riley.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Sherrie) DeWalt of Scio, Ohio, with whom she resided; and a daughter, Daureatha Hython of Akron; four stepdaughters, Carrie, Amanda, Andrea and Hilda Keener; two sisters, Laura (Herbert) Greathouse of New Cumberland, WV, and Betty (James) Ash of Newcomerstown, Ohio; two brothers, Ernest (Beverly) Riley of East Springfield, and Glenn (Diane Kirkpatrick) Riley of Steubenville; and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Keener; and her twin brother, Forest Riley.
Doris was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland, WV where she maintained her membership even after returning to her son's home in Scio, Ohio.
Doris loved her family above all, and even during her extensive illness spent her time knitting and crocheting gifts for those she loved. The last words any visitor heard as they were leaving were, "I love you."
A memorial service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland or the National Heart Association.
The Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland handled arrangements.
