To the editor:
I am the proud mother of a remarkable young man named Scott Renforth. He is presently running for the Jefferson County Auditor position.
Renforth is hard-working, honest, persistent and determined. He has worked as a deputy sheriff for more than 15 years and has been the resource officer for the Edison Local School District for the past 12 years. He is always working additional hours to support his family while attending Franciscan University of Steubenville to achieve an education that will give him an opportunity to improve his life as well as the lives of his family. He will have an MBA with a concentration in accounting by the end of this year.
He has served this county in so many ways for so many years. He has been the protector of our children and grandchildren and has also helped to inspire many of them to get out there and do what they believe in, always following their dreams and staying on the right path. He has even helped many of the kids in the area who began down the wrong path, turning them around and helping them to understand that life is much better and not nearly as hard when you do the right thing. Renforth is a deserving candidate for county auditor. He truly makes a difference in each and every one of the lives he touches, and I believe with my whole heart that he will make a difference in this county as well.
I have been very lucky where my children are concerned. I raised three amazing men who have each sacrificed for their country in separate and individual ways. Scott has two brothers, Bob and Mark. Bob has served in the Army for 10 years. He served in the Gulf War. While working for General Dynamics he served in Germany, Kosovo and Afghanistan as a defense contractor. He got his master's in organizational management with a minor in global management while working for General Dynamics. Mark lives in Hinesville, Ga., home of the 3rd Infantry Division. Mark served eight years with this division. As active, he was in Germany, Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia. After his active years he worked in the Department of Defense. He was in the Special Ops Command for five-and-a-half years in Afghanistan and two years in Iraq.
Scott has always been one to believe in helping at home. He helps the people of his home county who he considers his family. He is always the first to lend a hand or watch out for others, he is selfless and would give his life for anyone whether he knows them or not. He is and always will be a protector - let him protect this county in a different way. The people of Jefferson County have entrusted him with their lives, let us allow him to now help in protecting our livelihoods.
Please, vote for Scott Renforth for Jefferson county auditor this on May 6.
