NEW CUMBERLAND - The community of New Cumberland came together for the fourth year April 26 to hold its annual prayer walk.
The walk, which offered prayers for the community, businesses, schools, public officials, police and fire departments, began at two points in the city - one at the New Cumberland ball fields and the second at the Hancock County Courthouse.
Following an opening prayer, the two groups walked through the city, until arriving at the gazebo at George Hines Park.

Each person received a balloon, writing a prayer on them before they were released.
"The prayer walk was a blessed event one that witnessed to our community as well as those who were passing through this little town of New Cumberland," said the Rev. Michael J. Rowe.
There were about 50 people in attendance from several churches in the New Cumberland area represented.
