Taking a walk

May 10, 2014
Weirton Daily Times
Students at Weir High School participated in a walk-a-thon Friday to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. As part of the event, organized by the school's wellness committee, students were able to donate at least $2 in order to take part in the walk during the school's fifth period and receive a sno cone. The class with the highest donation per number of students will earn their teacher a gift card, with the class receiving doughnuts on Monday. T-shirts also were sold to raise money, and organizers are encouraging students to also take part in the Brooke-Hancock Relay for Life, to be held June 7 at Follansbee Middle School. -- Craig Howell
