CADIZ WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
After several rainy Wednesdays, members of the Cadiz Women's Golf Association finally played an 18-hole scramble on Wednesday.
The score of the first two teams ended in a tie. Team No. 1 was Captain Bonnie Beetham, Betty Thompson, Joann Watson and Glenda Sensel. Team No. 2 consisted of Captain Nep Rowland, Peg Buchanan, Donna Griffin and Nancy Beckert.
After golf and lunch, Chairman Marlene Holloway called on the invitation committee of Nep Rowland and Joann Watson, co-chairs, for an update. The date is June 25 for the two-person scramble, with cash prizes to be awarded to many teams. Nancy Beckert and Ann Milleson will head up the decorating committee.

The Spring Hills Ladies played the first round of the spring handicap on May 22.
In flight A, the first-place winner was Claudia Norris, and second place was Lori Szymanek. B flight, first place was Linda Caputo with a tie for second place between Sharon Coleman and Neysa McCart.
C flight, first place was Tammy Cox, and second place, Brenda McCloskey.
Long Drive in A flight was Cindy Montgomery; B flight, Linda Caputo; and C flight, Mary Alice Myers.
Closest to the pin in A flight was Marge Alpino; B flight, Sharon Coleman; and C flight, Tammy Cox.
Carmella Wallace won the 50/50.
The second round of the spring handicap was to have been held May 29.

Town and Country Women Golf League new officers for the year 2014 have been announced. They are: Kathy Antinone, president; Jeanne Dowden, vice president; Norma Henson, secretary; and Signa Findlay, treasurer.
May 8 was the league's first play day at Spring Hills Golf Course where Janet Backel, Kay Mortimar and Peggy Fiedorcyzk were welcomed as new members.
