Allen C. Wells, 91, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Chillicothe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Chillicothe, OH.
He was born November 8, 1922, in Mingo Junction, OH, a son of the late Sylvester A. and Oma M. (Weeks) Wells.
Allen served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired carpenter and heavy equipment operator for Wells Construction and the West End Excavating Co. He was a member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church; the Buckeye Ruritan; a 50-year member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, Wildwood Lodge; and a 15-year member of the 35th Army Infantry Division Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (McCullough) Wells; brother, Ross L. Wells; and twin grandsons, Matthew and Mark Wells.
Surviving are a son, Ray A. (Kathy) Wells of Chillicothe, OH; a daughter, Joyce L. (Tom) Novacek of Wintersville, OH; brother, Glenn C. (Marcella) Wells of Steubenville, OH; grandchildren, Christy Novacek (Chris Wiacek) of Alexandria, VA, Todd Novacek of Wintersville, OH, Gregory (Joy) Wells, Daniel (Mallorey) Wells, and Erin (Chris) Pancake, all of Chillicothe, OH; and great-grandchildren Ben Wiacek, Payton Wells, and Garrett Wells.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jimm Woods, officiating. Interment will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
