Weirton Daily Times

Steubenville Big Red graduate Ja'Quan Lavender, flanked by his parents, Lorenzo and Renita Lavender, will continue his academic and athletic careers at Point Park University, where he will major in sports management and be a member of the track and field program, where he will run the 200, 400 and the 4x400 relay. Lavender was the OVAC champion as a senior in the 400 and qualified for the Ohio State Track and Field Championhips at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University the past two seasons. Also on hand for the signing were, from left, track coach Jason Kernahan, Athletic Director Lynn Meyer and Principal Shawn Crosier.
