WEIRTON - Weirton Post 10 committed five errors that played a big role in its 7-2 loss to Moorefield Saturday at Ed Bowman Field.
Moorefield, playing aggressive baseball, pounded out 13 hits to help themselves as well.
Post 10 was to entertain the Cadiz Legion, but due to a scheduling miscue the game will be rescheduled to a date later this summer. However, Moorefield was in the area playing at Moundsville earlier Saturday and called Weirton coach, Bill Magnone, to see about playing a game.
"It worked out well for us," said Magnone. "The way things turned out we needed a game and I was glad to get the call."

Moorefield: Colaw (WP, 4BB, 5K), Hevener (6th, 2BB, 3K) and Harman. Strawderman S, 2B, R; See S, 2B, RBI, 2R; Harman 2B, 2R; Combs S, R.
Weirton: Hockenberry (LP, 0BB, 5K), Viakely (7th, 0BB, 1K) and Silvestri, Reardon. Merico 2S, R; Antinone RBI; Sylvestri S; Reardon S.
Moorefield scored two runs in the first inning, but Post 10, which got only four hits in the game, took advantage of a brief spell of wildness by Moorefield's Colaw and came right back with two in the bottom of the second to tie the score.
That didn't last long, however, as Moorefield scored three in the top of the third inning and tacked on a run in each of the sixth and seventh innings.
Sam Hockenberry started on the mound for Post 10 and took the loss. Weirton's Mitch Viakely relieved and got the final out in the top of the seventh inning.
"He threw a pretty good ballgame we just didn't field the ball very well today," Magnone said of Hockenberry. "We didn't have a good day at all. We swung at bad pitches.
"That's how it has been going. We've been pitching pretty good, but mistakes are biting us."
It was the second loss in as many games for Post 10, whose lineup yesterday was missing several starters due to graduation parties and other activities.
"It is early," said Magnone. "We're still trying to mesh kids from five different schools and today we were kind of young out there. I think we'll be okay when we have our full complement of kids and they get more familiar playing with each other."
Vinnie Merico got two hits for Post 10 and scored a run. Dom Sylvestri and Pat Reardon collected singles. Reardon also worked his way on with a walk.
A Merico single got Post 10 going in the bottom of the second. Walks to Mario Lombardi and Zack Porter loaded the bases. A third straight walk to Anthony Antinone forced Merico home and Porter scored on Kaleb Baire's grounder to shortstop.
Post 10 returns to action Monday at Wheeling Post 1.
