Headed to Waynesburg

Indian Creek graduate Blake Roar, seated next to his mother Julie Roar, will continue his academic and athletic careers at Waynesburg University, where he will major in criminal justice and be a member of the football team. Roar was a first-team all-Eastern District selection in football as a senior and a third-team all-Ohio choice in Division IV. He was also first-team all-OVAC in football and a three-time all-OVAC honorable mention selection in basketball. Roar finished his senior season for the Redskins with 1,170 yards and 14 touchdowns in 182 rushes. He caught 15 passes for 145 yards and returned five kickoffs for 162 yards and a score. Roar totaled 33 solo tackles, 12 assists and two for loss. He finished his career with a school-record 11 interceptions. Also on hand for the signing were, from left, guidance counselor Jim Maul, retiring principal Steve Cowser, football coach Andrew Connor and athletic director and basketball coach Joe Dunlevy.
