WHEELING - The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival will hold the second annual amateur pasta sauce contest in addition to the long-standing homemade wine contest.
The sauce competition will have three categories - red sauce, white sauce and miscellaneous, which can include Bolognese, pesto and puttanesca. Contestants may enter one or more sauces in each category.
Only homemade sauces may be entered, and the entry deadline is July 10.
The entry fee is $10 for the first entry and $6 for additional entries.
Medals will be awarded during the festival weekend to the top three contestants in each category.
