Force registration is open
WEIRTON - Registration is open for the 2014 Force Soccer Camp. It will be held at the J.C. Williams Soccer Complex from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. July 28-31.
Coaches this year include: Pete Parikakis (Bethany College women's coach), Clare McBane (Franciscan University of Steubenville women's coach), Aaron Kelly (FUS?assistant women's coach), Ben Bird (Century United Soccer Academy) and Keith Dopp.
The camp is for players ages 8-15. The fee is $65. The Force Junior Soccer Camp is $50 and is for players ages 5-7. Advanced payment with a credit card is required.

Scisciani records an ace
UNIONPORT - Doug Scisciani recorded a hole-in-one at Red Oaks Golf Course. He used an 8-iron on the par 3 15th hole.

Creek youth football camp planned
WINTERSVILLE - Indian Creek will hold its 12th-annual Youth Football Camp at the high school from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
The cost is $20, which includes a T-shirt and cook out on the last day.
It is run by the coaches and players at Indian Creek. Fundamentals of the game will be stressed.
Junior Bears to hold bash
CHESTER - The Oak Glen Junior Bears Softball Association will host its fifth-annual 8U/10U/12U/15U Softball Bash July 11-13. Pool play format will be followed by elimination round with three games guaranteed.
Trophies/medals to first- and second-place. Cost is $175 for 8U and $250 for 10U/12U/15U. Registration deadline is Monday.

Volleyball officials classes to be held
STEUBENVILLE - The West Virginia-Ohio Volleyball Officials Association will conduct a volleyball officials training course starting in late July.
Successful completion of the 24-hour course will allow participants to officiate for the fall 2014 season.

Pizzoferrato game to be played
MINGO JUNCTION - The ninth-annual Brian Pizzoferrato Memorial Baseball Game will be held at noon July 26 at the John Muth Baseball Complex behind Hills Elementary.
This game pits former Mingo High School baseball players against former Steubenville Catholic Central players.
All proceeds are given to Brian's son, Ronnie.
FUS to host tennis tournament
STEUBENVILLE - Franciscan University of Steubenville will host the Father Michael Scanlan Tennis Tournament July 18-20 at Belleview Park.
The tournament began in the 1980s as a public event. Eventually it became an intramural tournament for students only, before coming to an end. Scanlan was heavily involved in athletics during his tenure as FUS from 1974-2000. He often played tennis with the students. He retired in 2011 and moved to the Third Order Regular motherhouse in Loretto, Pa.
The tournament will have men's and women's brackets, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles, and a junior bracket for players under 18. Cost is $20 per person or per doubles team.
Concessions will be provided each day. Participants will receive a T-shirt and one complimentary meal.
Big Red boosters to meet
STEUBENVILLE?- The Steubenville Big Red Boosters Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the high school conference room.
