John and Betty Zak served as hosts and directed committee functions for the Gadabouts' annual covered-dish picnic held at the Follansbee Community House.
Jenny Avoli, Gloria Tripodi and Peg Frederick served as the reception committee. Edna Michetti led in opening ceremonies. The 50/50 conducted by Jenny Avoli and Ron Fallert was won by Bob Rawlings. Guests attending were Mike and Beverly DiBiasi, David and Karen Krause, Lola Swanagan, Gloria Tawaskey and Betty Christopher.
Cathy and Rich Petrella were introduced as new members.
A number of card games were played. Bingo was directed by Mike DiBiasi and assisted by Betty Zak. Winners were Barbara Purks, Beverly DiBiasi, Norman Moore, Sena Benos, Richard Dobbs, Ellen Garies, Barbara Cerra, Sandra Drylie, Jim Drylie, Ron Fallert, Tim Thomas, Laura Mamula. Some winners won more than one game. The cover-all winner was Norman Moore.
Eight teams of 32 members took part in a cornhole tournament directed by Ed Treglia. The winning team was Mary Alice Meyer, Bob Rawlings, Janet Haverfield and George Glikes. Second-place winners were Ted Walaszyck, Roberta France, Okey and Sandra Nestor.
Former Tour Director Claudia Clevenger is co-sponsoring a Gadabouts trip to the Western Mediterranean. Departure will be Sept. 22, and the cruise will be Sept. 24 to Oct. 3; Rome, Naples, Sicily, Florence in Italy; Provence and Nice in France; Corsica following Ajaccio.
