TORONTO -The Focus in Toronto organization is seeking vendors for the 37th-annual Festival of the Arts set Aug. 30-31 centered around the gazebo commons.
The local nonprofit organization is seeking 100 vendors for its festival this year, according to Justine Poole, FIT program director.
"The 37th-annual Festival of the Arts will feature a diverse variety of handmade arts and crafts as well as live entertainment and delicious food for the event that has made its mark on the community for 36 years," said Poole. "More than 75 vendors have confirmed (to participate), getting closer to our goal of 100.
"We are accepting craft, food and direct sales vendors until Aug. 1, Poole continued. "Those received after the deadline will still be accepted, but a $10 fee will be added. Interested vendors can sign up online or mail an application. Applications can be found at www.FocusInToronto.com/festival. All vendors that have confirmed are also listed online."
Poole said craft and direct sales booths begin at $70 for a 10-by-10-foot space, and food vendors begin at $150.
"In an effort to attract new vendors to the event, we have been offering incentives," said Poole. "We are offering $10 off for vendors joining our event for the first time. In addition, we are offering $10 off to any vendor that refers someone to our event and they confirm. A vendor has the opportunity to get a maximum of $30 off.
"Without vendors we would not be able to host events like the Festival of the Arts," continued Poole. "Together we're able to sustain our local economy by purchasing a variety of local items. With a year of outreach behind us, and the Toronto All-School Reunion, this is expected to be the biggest festival in years with thousands of visitors."
