Manuel Fraga Jr., 77, of Weirton, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, in Weirton Medical Center.
Born August 27, 1936, in Weirton, he was a son of the late Manuel and Beniginia Gonzales Fraga.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Fraga, on November 17, 2013; daughter-in-law Elaine Fraga; brothers Frank and Manning Rodriguez; sister Helen Paolo and sister-in-law Dorothy Brancazio.
With 40 years of service, Mr. Fraga retired from Weirton Steel, where he worked as a security guard and was a member of the Cove Presbyterian Church. Everyone who met Manuel knew right away that he was always willing to help anyone in need and that he would put others in front of himself. He also enjoyed playing the machines when he had the time. Mr. Fraga was a United States Army veteran.
Manuel is survived by his son, Phil Fraga; his wife, Jessica; daughter Pam Fraga; sisters Delores Petrovich and Amelia Harrick, all of Weirton; grandchildren Austin, Dakota and Taylor and sisters-in-law Bonnie Billick of Colliers, WV, and Judy Jackson of Weirton.
Visitation will be held Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Cove Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Ed Rudiger will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
