August 27, 2014
Weirton Daily Times

After being challenged by Sgt. Dezso Polgar, left, Hancock County Sheriff Ralph Fletcher, front, accepted the ALS Foundation's Ice Bucket Challenge, being drenched with five gallons of ice water by Polgar and Lt. Scott Swan, right, both of the Hancock County Sheriff's office, Tuesday afternoon in front of the county courthouse. In turn, Fletcher challenged the remaining 54 West Virginia county sheriffs to accept the challenge and raise awareness and funds for the foundation. Chief Deputy Art Watson also took part, challenging Hancock County Prosecutor Jim Davis and Tom Cox and the county courthouse security team and Sgt. Al Hendershot, Al Bigelow and Jim Kudlak, with whom he first worked as a law enforcement officer in the Moundsville Police Department. -- Summer Wallace-Minger
