WINTERSVILLE - The nationally recognized Kindermusik classes for infants and young children is beginning another year at the Center of Music and Art.
"This program has a 100 percent satisfaction rate from the parents who have participated with their children and we have two new classes to offer this year" said Carolyn Glaub, certified Kindermusik instructor and owner of CMA.
"Infants 3 months old up through children age 7 can benefit from Kindermusik and really get a head start on developing artistically and intellectually." There are five classes and registering early is suggested.
One new four-week class for ages 2-4 is on Mondays starting Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and is titled Laugh and Learn. The class combines a preschooler's natural love of music, storytelling and imaginative play with age-appropriate activities that introduce early music concepts and foster independence, social and emotional skills, language growth and self-control, according to Glaub. Registration is required by Wednesday and the cost is $60 with materials included.
The other new four-week class for ages 4-6 is on Tuesdays starting Sept. 9 from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is titled Move and Groove. The class can engage a child in music and movement activities that promote language, social and emotional skills, early math, literacy, physical coordination and creativity. Registration is required by Wednesday, and the cost is $60 with materials included.
For the 18-month-old to 3-year-old plus a caregiver, the Our Time class is held from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays starting this Thursday and running through Dec. 18. Milk & Cookies' registration is required, and the cost is $185 with materials included.
For 3-5-year-olds, Kindermusik's Imagine That! class is held from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Thursday starting this Thursday and running through Dec. 18. Titled "Hello Weather, Let's Play Together!" registration is required, and the cost is $200 with materials included. Imagine That! uses music to tap into the preschooler's creative spirit while focusing on developing learning strengths and self-confidence to prepare for school and future music lessons, according to Glaub. The child participates independently for the first 30 minutes and is joined by the parent for the final 15 minutes of class.
For 5-7-year-olds, Kindermusik for the Young Child offers two classes: Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4:15 p.m. until 5 p.m. starting Sept. 9 and 10, respectively. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend the last 10-15 minutes of the class, and the cost is $210 with materials included. Registration is required by Wednesday.
All classes are taught by certified Kindermusik instructor Aimee Carroll, a graduate of West Liberty University.
