ROBSON, Rodney William Sr., 63, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2014, at Aultman's Compassionate Care Center in Canton.
He was born March 8, 1951, in Steubenville, OH. Rodney was a 1969 graduate of Springfield High School and a longtime resident of Amsterdam and Carrollton.
He was a United States Air Force veteran and worked for 44 years at PCC Airfoils in Minerva. He was a member of the Amsterdam Moose Lodge 1495, Minerva Fraternal Order of Eagles 2199, Metal Workers Union, United Mine Workers, Amsterdam VFW Post 232 auxiliary member and lifelong Cleveland sports fan.
Rodney spent many hours on the sidelines, coaching his kids in little league softball and baseball; spent many hours waterside, wetting a line and spent many hours trackside, rooting for his favorite dogs and horses.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father, John Robson, his mother, Sarah Robson and infant son.
He is survived by two daughters and one son, Amber (Amanda) Robson, Aimee (Beau) Shadwick and Rodney (Katie) Robson, four siblings, Elaine (Gary) Wollin, John (Lisa) Kemmer, Doug Robson and Robin (Mike) McGlone, many nieces and nephews, his significant other of 18 years, Kris Keyser, and her children, Chad (Marcy) Keyser and Marc (Kim) Keyser. He has four grandchildren, Madison Keyser, Olivia Robson, Parker Shadwick and Paige Shadwick.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Mike Doak officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
