With the help of local athletes, Brooke County School personnel are again collecting school supplies and personal hygiene products to be distributed at the school district’s Back-to-School Bash, which is set for Aug. 8 at Brooke High School. The items may be brought to the school bus parked outside the school board’s office at 1201 Pleasant Ave. between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday. Donations will be accepted afterward at the board’s office. Helping coordinators Amanda DiMarzio, Karen Givens-Whetsell and Brittany Teaters collect the items are members of the Brooke High School softball, swim, football, baseball, golf and boys and girls soccer and basketball teams; and the middle school golf and girls basketball teams. On hand Monday were, from left, soccer players Connor Pack, Jacob High and Bronson Pack; and back: Coach Joe Pepe, soccer players Luca Provenzano, Jacob Johnson, Chase Hile and Zack Mocik; and Deputy Superintendent Corey Murphy. — Warren Scott
