As part of the March 10 meeting of Weirton Council, Mayor Dean Harris, at right, honored the military service of Ward 2 Councilman Ralph Cunningham. Cunningham was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969, attending basic training at Fort Jackson, and then serving at Camp Panzer Kaserne in Germany during Vietnam. He held various positions during his service, including pole line constructor, telephone installer, and switchboard repairman, receiving an honorable discharge in 1972. — Craig Howell
